What are fishing cats? A fishing cat is a small cat species that lives in wetland habitats across Southeast Asia. They live up to their namesake - they fish for their food, and they are experienced swimmers! Riverbanks Zoo is home to this species, and they are a fan favorite!
Fishing cats are endangered - there are only about 3,000 estimated individuals left in the wild. Organizations like the Fishing Cat Fund are working to help preserve this unique species through various projects!
